Did anyone know that a Scarecrow prop was used in the movie Lethal Weapon 3?
Yep, there is a photo of Philip (Paul Stout) and Jaime (Greg Morton). It's when Mel is at that girl's (Rene Russo) house and he's looking around. The photo is on the mantel. It's a close-up shot and shown for a few seconds just before Mel messes with the computer.

Paul Stout's brother, Ricky, appeared in the second season episode "Odds on a Dead Pigeon." Ricky played Gilbert, one of the cub scout boys.

Bruce Boxleitner and Paul Stout share the same birthday.

Bruce Boxleitner was heading for football before acting.--Who would've played Scarecrow if Bruce pursued football? The short story is Bruce first got into drama because he couldn't make first string in football or basketball in high school. Since he wasn't happy to sit on the sidelines, he tried out for the school play and became the first sophomore to get the lead.

SMK uses some references from "The Wizard of Oz." In the episode, "We're Off to See the Wizard," Amanda helps Lee solve the case from reading "The Wizard of Oz" and also finds out how he got his code name (Kim). In the episode of "The First Time," there's a note posted on Amanda's refrigerator door. It happens sometime after she unsuccessfully gives the package to the man in a red hat. It reads: "Toto I have a feeling were not in Kansas anymore." And right next to the refrigerator is a Scarecrow.

Some of the Scarecrow cast and guest stars appeared on other Kate Jackson shows. Beverly Garland appeared on The Rookies: "Three Hours to Kill" and Charlie's Angels: "Cruising Angels." Martha Smith appeared on Charlie's Angels: "Lady Killer." Numerous villains from Charlie's Angels also played the bad guys on S&MK (Kim). Donna McKechnie played that kid's mom and was cast as a Soap Opera legend in "The Boy Who Could Be King." She was also with Kate in the soap series, Dark Shadows. (Kim, Joanne) I believe Martha and Beverly also appeared with Bruce. I'll post that when I get the chance.

So whatever happened to Martha Smith? Last heard she hosted a Thanksgiving Day parade in Detroit (she's from Farmington Hills, MI) in 1988 or so and was wearing a very BIG, BLUE fur coat! (Kay M.)

Can you guess one of the stars of "Seinfeld" that appeared in the episode "Car Wars"? He was one of the two bad guys (Amanda called him the "tall and skinny one") who were after the classic car so they could search it. (?, Kim, Constance)

How about the guy from Saturday Night Live? He was in "Tail of the Dancing Weasel" and played the security guard Amanda and Lee duped into how the files burned. (Constance) Go here to find out! Some other interesting stars guest starred too. Will add them there from now on.

Beverly Garland appeared with Bruce in How the West Was Won: "The Daughter." How funny that they would end up together on "Scarecrow and Mrs. King"!

There was a movie made similar to Scarecrow and Mrs. King in 1984. The woman was a divorced house-wife and had 2 young boys also being taken care of by the grandma. The guy wasn't a spy, but they get messed in international intrigue. The movie was called "American Dreamer" and starred JoBeth Williams and Tom Conti. It's available on video if you want to check it out. Thanks to Shannon & Kris for finding the name of the movie.

Did you ever notice that two different exteriors of Amanda's house are used. One has a regular roof line and the other a gambrel roof? Maybe the audience wasn't supposed to notice. (Andy) A total of 3 exterior houses were used. The first only used in the pilot and credits of the 1st and 2nd season. The others were switched back-and-forth between episodes throughout the entire run.

Amanda's exterior house is used in some Warner Bros. shows. There's a couple of them. Let me confirm it first.

The exterior of Amanda's house from the 3rd and 4th seasons as well as her Cutlass Cruiser is shown in a movie with Lynda Carter called "I Posed For Playboy." (Dave)

The woman who played Leslie O'Conner (Elyssa Davalos) in the "Over the Limit" episode, appeared in "How the West was Won" with Bruce Boxleitner as his one true love. (Miss Karen) She had a recurring role as Hillary Gant, the daughter of a sheriff played by Ken Curtis (formerly Festus Haggen on Gunsmoke). They were supposed to get married, but more on this later. (Joanne) She also guest starred in the first season episode, "Mexico Connection," of "Charlie's Angels."

Did you know that in "Ship of Spies" in the supermarket, Amanda tries to get out of going on assignment (before she realizes its a cruise) by saying she has plans with her friend Kitty Holcolmb from college. Kitty Holcolmb, of course, was the name of Bruce's then wife. (Lori)

In "Playing Possum," there's also an apple on top of a car. Someone emailed this info years ago, and I can't remember why I didn't add this. Anyways, this isn't a blooper. A lot times they're inside jokes. "Golden Girls," for example, had an exclamation mark on the door and a different coffee mug by the ice maker.

Bruce's sister, Nancy Boxleitner, also appears in an episode. She tells Lee that her dad has shoes just like his.

Here's a very good rendition of "Rosanna"
by Toto (no relation to Scarecrow)
